After 12 months away, Australian psych rock band King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard has returned with a brand new single titled 'Cyboogie'.
Following the band's ambitious feat of releasing five studio albums in 2017, it took a much needed break and has finally resurfaced with its first new single and an accompanying music video. The sci-fi-insipired electronic track features Daft Punk-esque vocals, heavy synths and an addictive bass line, which makes for a fun song despite the band's trademark psychedelic guitar noticeable absence. The retro-themed Jason Galea-directed music video features the band playing “identikit analogue droogs”.
While the band's next record has yet to be announced, the band has promised that 'Cyboogie' is “an addictive taste of what’s to come from the band.”
