KRYSTAL has officially launched her solo era. The former f(x) member has unveiled 'Solitary’, a smooth and soulful lead single that marks the first glimpse into her long-awaited debut solo album.

Melding R&B and soul influences, ‘Solitary’ sets the tone for Krystal’s new artistic direction. The track follows a string of SoundCloud covers — including ‘Georgy Porgy’, ‘I’m Coming Back’, and ‘My Flame’ — that hinted at her evolving sound. A special party remix is available exclusively on the CD version. Within just nine days, the single has already sold over 32,000 physical copies, underscoring the hype surrounding her musical comeback.

Ahead of the release, Krystal dropped the first episode of Charging Crystals, a documentary series that charts her creative journey behind the album. Filmed across London, Jeju’s House of Refuge, and San Francisco, the series offers fans an intimate view of her process and includes a standout collaboration with Toro y Moi, the acclaimed singer-songwriter and producer.

This marks the first time Krystal has opened up the making of an album to the public — adding a new layer of transparency and connection as she reintroduces herself to the music world.

Krystal made her debut in 2009 with f(x), one of the most pioneering girl groups in K-pop. The group’s second album Pink Tape was hailed as one of the 100 Greatest Korean Albums by critics, while their final release 4 Walls earned international acclaim.

In recent years, she has made waves in film and TV, most notably winning Best New Actress at the 33rd Buil Film Awards for her role in Cobweb. She’s also set to star in an upcoming tvN drama alongside Ha Jung-woo and Lim Soo-jung.
