Cebu indie artist Kubra Commander is back with a sonic surge — unveiling his third studio album Metabolic, out now on all platforms.

Metabolic is a 12-track deep dive into Bobbi Olvido’s eclectic soundscape, brimming with indie rock grit, post-Britpop flair, funk grooves, and pulses of electronica. While unmistakably Kubra Commander, the album boldly blurs genre lines, cementing his place as one of the most versatile voices in the Cebuano music scene.

Beyond its high-energy production, Metabolic is a collaborative feat. The album features some of the region’s most exciting names including Tim Williams, Jeremy Rigodon, Erwin and Mikee Batucan, JB Villagonzalo (Awkward Dancer), Jeriel Larano (Honeydrop, The Wonggoys), and more — creating a dynamic, community-rooted release.

“I called the album Metabolic, as it pertains to the usage of energy — something that was quite a struggle compared to the previous albums,” Olvido shared. “There’s both a sense of fulfillment and relief in putting out this album. It’s far from perfect but a lot of heart and hard work was put into this, and I’m glad it’s finished”.

The album follows the success of lead single ‘On The Outside’, which earned a spot on Rolling Stone Philippines’ 20 Best Filipino Songs of 2025, praised for turning “small bars into arenas, or maybe lunar craters”. His latest single off the album was 'Life on The Moon'.

With Metabolic, Kubra Commander delivers not just an album, but a timestamp of growth, resilience, and sonic experimentation. It’s a statement piece — made with heart, sweat, and a whole lot of distortion.
