The MAMA Awards have finally revealed their shortlist for its highly anticipated 2024 edition!
While BLACKPINK's Jennie is the most-nominated soloist at this year's awards, aespa is the K-pop group with the most nominations. Meanwhile other notable acts such as SEVENTEEN, (G)-IDLE, NewJeans, IU and LE SSERAFIM have also earned nods in multiple major categories.

The winners of most categories will be determined through a combination of judge panel evaluations, alongside the number of song downloadsm streams and physical album sales. Fans will also be able to vote in the Worldwide Fans’ Choice category on the official Mnet App staring today, 14 October at 7PM KST.
Nootably, this year's awards introduces some major changes. A Best Choreography category has been added, aiming to honour those behind the scenes who craft the intricate dance routines that K-pop is famous for. Additionally, the Album of the Year judging criteria has been revamped. Historically determined by sales figures, the evaluation now includes a broader range of factors such as production quality, visual artistry, the strength of individual tracks and the overall impact of the album on the music industry. This shift seeks to reward creativity and influence over quantitive sales numbers.

The awards ceremony is set to take place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California on 21 November, as well as 22-23 November at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan. This marks the first time that the MAMA Awards will be held outside of East and Southeast Asia.
