Escueta sheds light on the process behind creating 'June' from slowly confronting her emotions and how opening up made the songwriting and production process flow more naturally as she shares, “Love songs have always been hard for me to write. I just feel like so much has been said about love that it kind of feels so overwhelming to try to sum it up in a song. A lot of lyrics came easily to me. I got the choruses done quickly, but was only able to finish the verse lyrics in the car on the way to a gig, which is a funny story.”
Produced by Mikey Amistoso of Ciudad, the track was composed piece by piece as Escueta uncovered parts of the story that the track comprised by reflecting on her experiences. Being mainly arranged by her, she shares more on how some pieces of the track were born saying, "My friend really liked the song too, and started jamming to it on bass one day at school - and that’s how we got the bassline of June." The track was slowly built up as each of her bandmates added their own flair to it with each time they played the songs live.
