Lindsay Lohan releases first single in 11 years

Lindsay Lohan has finally begun staging her comeback.

After over a decade of musical inactivity, the former prodigious child actor has returned with a new single, christened 'Xanax'. The single is her first since 2008's 'Bossy'. Previous hits from the Parent Trap actress include 'Rumors', and 'Confessions of a Broken Heart'.

'Xanax' features Alma, who most recently co-wrote Miley Cyrus' singles, 'Mother's Daughter' and 'Slide Away'. The new single chronicles Lohan's battle with anxiety. The track also features a slowed down version of Alice Deejay's 1998 hit, 'Better Off Alone'.

The accompanying music video, which was posted solely on Instagram, is "a compilation of vignettes of life."

"Family, love, the process of moving forward and letting go of the past," Lohan wrote alongside the clip. "To live and be happy, free of fear. Just to be grateful and open our eyes to our opportunities instead of numbing the mind."
