It appears that there's nowhere to go but up for Linying.
The Singaporean singer-songwriter, just fresh off inking a deal with Univeral Music Singapore, will now be represented in the US by Nettwerk Music Group. The label is under the chief Nettwerk umbrella, which also includes a publishing and management arm.
With Linying's current deal with the independent music giant, she joins a label roster that includes Passenger, Sinead O'Connor, Ladytron and William Fitzsimmons, making her the first Singaporean artist on the label.
Her music will be distributed by Nettwerk Music Group in North and South America, beginning with her debut EP Paris 12, which officially releases on September 30th.
In a press release, Nettwerk CEO Terry McBride — whose work with Coldplay, Sarah McLachlan and Avril Lavigne were instrumental in introducing them to the US market — talks about Linying's signing: “For me, music is about emotion, and Linying delivers on that experience. She is a very special artist, and we are excited to be her label partner for North and South America.”
