Forests' bassist and main vocalist, Darell Sungkono (also known as Darell Laser), has had his own side project brewing for a while now.

Known as Quite Quiet, his "bedroom pop" project is a far cry from the impassioned screaming and math-y guitars of his main band, but 'Girl In Sunny Island' is just as endearing and acute as any song from Sun Eat Moon Grave Party.

But whereas Forests share the same frenzied space as TTNG, You Blew It! and Gnarwhal, Quite Quiet may appeal to fans of more tranquil guitar music like Real Estate, Wild Nothing or even Mac Demarco. It's perfectly sunny and soothing, and Darell's DIY production works wonders with its reverb-y glory.

Quite Quiet's debut EP, Disoriented, is set for release on September 1st.
