Following their previous single 'Menit Tambahan' last June, Indonesian band Lomba Sihir have released a brand new song today called 'Tak Ada Waktu Tepat Untuk Berita Buruk' (meaning "there's no right time for bad news).

The alternative-pop outfit previously declared that their forthcoming music will be more "reflective than sarcastic" - and that spirit is apt for their latest track.

"As the lyrics of this song suggest, the process of making 'Tak Ada Waktu Tepat Untuk Berita Buruk' began with bad news that suddenly came to one of our personnel," said Lomba Sihir. "From there, we realized that humans can never fully prepare themselves mentally to face tragedy or disaster. Why? Because bad news never comes at the time we feel is right. Over time, we came to think that, ironically, unpredictable timing like that is what makes the misfortunes in this life, sometimes, feel funny instead of heartbreaking."

The track is produced by band members Rayhan Noor and Enrico Octaviano.

"In terms of music production, we wanted the song to sound like we were just hanging out and suddenly we wanted to jam together," Lomba Sihir shares. "We deliberately avoided a vibe that was too grand or overproduced because we didn't want the song to come across as if we were trying to deliver a sermon to the listeners. Through this simpler and somewhat messy vibe, we wanted to convey that, at the end of the day, we and our listeners are not that differentfrom each other. We've all been through the same things at the most not-so-ideal times - and there are times when all we can do is shrug and laugh."

'Tak Ada Waktu Tepat Untuk Berita Buruk' is now available on all digital streaming platforms via Sun Eater.
