Following up from the Beijing announcement with Take Two and SA trio, SG MUSO has announced singer-songwriters Charlie Lim and Gentle Bones as performers for the SGMUSO Live Showcase, which falls under Singapore: Inside Out (SG:IO). In what could be a very promising start to an international tour for both acts, they are the first two of three musicians selected to perform in the English capital and possibly playing more shows of their own around the area. The musicians are currently confirmed to be in London from 24 to 28 June, this year.
UPDATE: It has been confirmed that indie pop band Pleasantry, who themselves have just recently wrapped up a tour in North America, will be joining Charlie Lim and Gentle Bones for the SGMUSO Live Showcase in London, taking place in the highly esteemed record shop/live music space Rough Trade East.
As SGMUSO considers the last act to travel to London, you can still submit your application to join these two — at least, until April 26 at 11:59pm. For those who submitted their material for London during Open Call #1, the good news is that you will automatically be considered again for this round. Thankfully, you wouldn't need to re-submit your application. The last act selected for London will be notified mid-May.
For the winner of the last Open Call for London, he/she'll be will be fully funded for the following:
▪Return Economy flights (up to 5 pax per act only)
▪Twin/Triple sharing accommodation (up to 5 nights only)
▪Local ground transport (up to 5 days only)
▪Meal Allowance (up to 5 days only)
▪Basic Backline for SGMUSO Live Showcase performance
Both Gentle Bones and Charlie Lim have performed on our Bandwagon Sessions while Gentle Bones joined us for our festival bus trip to Urbanscapes 2014 last December. Charlie Lim is currently prepping the release of his (long overdue) double EP Time/Space while Gentle Bones is currently one of the many artists on the *SCAPE Invasion roster.
