In an increasingly digital world, music still has the power to bring people together. Filipino indie-folk artist Peej and Indian singer-songwriter Dhruv Visvanath prove that with their new single ‘Pieces’.

The song is a haunting reflection on emotional drift and the longing to reconnect, born from a chance meeting at Singapore’s Music Matters Live during Creator Week in 2024. “We clicked instantly,” says Dhruv. “We even swapped t-shirts.” That spontaneous bond led to a long-distance collaboration, crafted remotely between New Delhi and Manila.

With Dhruv’s tender guitar work and vocals paired with Peej’s signature saxophone, ‘Pieces’ blends vulnerability with sonic intimacy. “I thought he was writing about heartbreak,” Peej recalls. “Turns out it was about self-reinvention. But that’s the beauty of collaboration—it creates new meanings.”

Written and produced by Dhruv with lyrical contributions from both artists, the track thrives on sincerity and space. “As two solo artists, the distance actually gave us freedom,” Peej says.

Both known for their introspective songwriting and global sensibilities, the duo’s partnership feels effortless yet meaningful. With ‘Pieces,’ they’ve crafted more than a song—they’ve built a bridge across hearts, genres, and geographies.
