Lucas has left NCT and WayV.
On 10 May, the singer shared a handwritten letter announcing that, after much deliberation and reflection, he will be departing from NCT and WayV. In the letter, written in Chinese, Lucas shares how he's grateful for his members' love and support and how he will strive to be a better person as he goes on to pursue a new chapter.
"Moving forward, I intend to muster the courage to face the fans who have been waiting for me and to pursue individual endeavours. I believe the best way to repay the fans who support me is by continuing to deliver outstanding performances. I will strive to become a more mature Huang Xuxi and an even better Lucas," the singer writes via Instagram.

Lucas, who also is known as Huang Xuxi, took a hiatus from his activities with WayV and NCT in 2021, after a series of allegations of mistreating previous girlfriends. The singer posted an apology on social media, sharing that he would be taking time to reflect on his actions.
The singer made his debut with NCT in 2018 and performed as part of the group's Chinese unit, WayV and SM Entertainment's supergroup, SuperM.
