KATSEYE have announced that member Manon Bannerman will be taking a temporary hiatus from group activities to “focus on her health and wellbeing”.

In a statement shared by the group, the members revealed that the decision was made after “open and thoughtful conversations together,” adding that they “fully support this decision.”

“After open and thoughtful conversations together, we are sharing that Manon will be taking a temporary hiatus from group activities to focus on her health and wellbeing,” the statement reads. “KATSEYE remains committed to showing up for one another and for the fans who mean everything to us. The group will continue scheduled activities during this time, and we look forward to being together again when the time is right.”

The global girl group — also made up of Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Megan Skiendiel, Sophia Laforteza, and Yoonchae Jeung — first rose to prominence through the 2023 reality competition series Dream Academy. They later cemented their breakout status with the Netflix docuseries Popstar Academy: KATSEYE and their aptly titled debut single, 'Debut'.

Since then, the sextet have built an impressive run. They released two EPs — 2024’s SIS (Soft Is Strong) and last year’s Beautiful Chaos — alongside a string of singles that steadily climbed the charts. 'Gnarly', co-written by Alice Longyu Gao, marked their first entry on the Billboard Hot 100. The group followed up with 'Gabriela', 'Gameboy', and 'Internet Girl', with the latter debuting at No. 29 on the chart last month.

As the group continues its scheduled activities, fans around the world are rallying behind Manon, sending messages of support and hoping for her return when the time feels right.
