Mitski is bringing her new era to life across Southeast Asia with a series of immersive fan experiences in celebration of her forthcoming album Nothing’s About to Happen to Me, set for release on 27 February.
Second-Hand Shop event
In honour of her latest single 'I’ll Change for You', selected thrift stores around the world are participating in the Second-Hand Shop event, running now through 20 February. In Southeast Asia, participating Second-Hand Shop locations include Season Pass in Manila and Vintagewknd in Singapore.
The activation invites fans to step into the visual world of the album by shopping for looks inspired by its aesthetic, snapping photos with in-store mirror decals, and picking up limited-edition pins while supplies last. Fans are also encouraged to share videos of their outfit finds by tagging @TheMitskiVerse and using #IllChangeForYou for a chance to be featured on Instagram.
'I’ll Change for You' arrives as a nostalgic mid-tempo track that highlights Mitski’s vocal range over lush instrumentation. The accompanying music video, directed by Lexie Alley and edited by Rena Johnson, draws viewers deeper into the chaotic Tansy House universe. Printed frame by frame onto film with hand-drawn marks and subtle distortions, the visual unfolds with tactile, unsettling beauty, as though discovered among the clutter of a dilapidated home.
Tansy House Listening Events
Further expanding the world of the album, Tansy House Listening Events will take place on 21 February, offering fans an early listen to Nothing’s About to Happen to Me in select record stores. Tansy House Listening Events in Southeast Asia will be held at Millers Records in Bali and Jakarta, Have You Heard Records x Entertainment Project in Bangkok, Filla Killa Shop x Solar Pop in Cebu City, Tandang Store in Kuala Lumpur, Acetate Music in Makati City, Good Vibrations Records x Rosano Records in Quezon City, and Bizarro Market in Singapore.
Designed to immerse attendees within the “home” of Tansy House, the sessions include a scrapbooking activity where participants receive Tansy House letterhead to write, doodle, and create as they listen. Finished pages will be added to a “Desk of Mitski” poster displayed in-store, participating stores are invited to submit photos of their decorated posters and favourite pages for a chance to be featured via @TheMitskiVerse. The album will also be available for pre-order and for pickup on release day through participating stores.
