Entertainment company mm2 Asia Ltd. will be embarking on a new venture.

On Tuesday (11/1), the Singaporean entertainment company announced that it will be launching a new non-fungible (NFT) marketplace, Metaviva, for licensed digital entertainment tokens and collectibles focused on popular entertainment and media content from the region.

The company currently oversees mm2 Entertainment, which produced films such as the Ah Boys to Men series and The Lion Men, as well as TV series Long Long Time Ago.

The newest venture, Metaviva, will offer fans increased opportunities to engage with, and participate in their favorite content in the form of NFTs, which are unique digital assets similar to cryptocurrency. The new marketplace will serve as a hub for consumers to purchase, trade, sell, and store unique and individual tokens that are interoperable across blockchain platforms like Polygon and Etherum. NFT collectibles include exclusive art, audiovisual footage, music, animation, merchandise, and actual props from various films, TV series, and events.

Founder and Executive Chairman of mm2 Asia Melvin Ang shares his hope for the platform to be the bridge between content producers from across Asia, and their fans.

"We want to build a platform that will enable content producers to build their brands and community fan base by creating offerings that were previously only available to insiders of the industry,"
