Celebrate mod culture with Sobs, Cosmic Child and more this weekend

There's a brand new party in town for fans of everything Mod

For the unfamiliar, the Mod subculture, which emerged in Britain in the late 1950s, is characterized by a smart stylish appearance, the riding of motor scooters, and a liking of soul, ska, jazz and more. Mod culture still endures around the world, including Singapore, and this coming weekend fans will get the chance to celebrate Mod subculture at The Projector with Mod About You

Organized by The Risan Company, Swinging Robots Productions and Rinniey K., with support from Fred Perry – Mods' clothing brand of choice for decades now – the line-up for the event will see the likes of local favourites such as Sobs (pictured left), Cosmic Child (pictured right), Les Arachides, Lovejets, Singa Ragga and Geylang Ska Syndicate perform with Malaysian talents The Rudeans.

There will also be special DJ sets from Singapore's very own Straits Records and Baba, along with Iqbal Djoha from Jakarta, Indonesia, and an exclusive exhibition by Fred Perry covering the local Mod community and a collection of vintage scooters. Since it's only a matter of time before they're no longer allowed on Singapore roads, there's no better way to admire these beautiful vehicles – and take in some great music – than at Mod About You.
