Mrs. GREEN APPLE have released their sixth full-length studio album, POPS.
Out on 30 September via EMI Records / Universal Music Japan, the 16-track record marks a defining release in the Japanese trio's "Phase 3" and arrives as their first original full-length album in nearly three years.
With POPS, Motoki Ohmori, Hiloto Wakai, and Ryoka Fujisawa explore their own interpretation of what "mainstream" music can mean today. Rather than pursuing a single sound designed to reach everyone, the band move between genres, moods, and emotions, allowing each track to connect with listeners in different ways while retaining Mrs. GREEN APPLE's musical identity.
The album brings together previously released singles 'GOOD DAY', 'Wind and Town', 'Carrying Happiness', 'Summer Shadow', and 'lulu.', the opening theme for the second season of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End.
Also featured is 'Brand New', which Mrs. GREEN APPLE wrote and performed as the official Japanese theme song for Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures' Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
POPS arrives amid the band's continued growth outside Japan. Earlier this year, Mrs. GREEN APPLE ranked No. 13 on the IFPI Global Artist Chart, becoming the highest-charting Japanese artist on the list.
The release also follows the band's biggest stadium tour to date, ZENJIN MITO TO IM/MUTABLE, which drew 390,000 fans across six performances, including four shows at MUFG Stadium. Another 250,000 viewers tuned in to the finale through livestreams, screenings at more than 360 cinemas, karaoke viewing events across Japan, and international screenings in South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Thailand.
With the album now out, Mrs. GREEN APPLE are heading back on the road for their first nationwide arena tour in approximately three years. The Mrs. GREEN APPLE Ringo Jam Tour 'SHADOWS' comprises 28 performances across 13 cities in Japan, beginning on 30 September at Anabuki Arena Kagawa.
