Arash Buana has finally released his 2nd full-length album titled life update. The record was preceeded by 3 widely praised singles 'i really do love her <3', 'friends', and 'take me home'.
The Indonesian multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter has crafted 11 wonderful songs on his new LP, with 'hey, i'm tired' chosen as the release's focus track.
“It turns out that it is one of the best tracks I have ever made during my career in music. This song is about my girlfriend. But the fun fact is that I made this song before I was dating her. So it’s like the stories inside the song are fictional. In the end, I went out with her and surprisingly what was written in the song happened in my life now,” Arash reveals.
"My writing this time is very sentimental and very much directed towards a strong psychological side. There are many talks about trauma, bitter experiences at the beginning of my career, and acceptance. So far I have always felt that I have to do what I do for people not for myself. For the first time in my life, after I can make peace with the situation and who I am. On this album, I feel relieved and very proud that I can write these songs myself,” Arash explains.
The making of the the album also involved musicians such as Farrel Cahyono, Petra Sihombing, Rendy Pandugo, and Will Mara. Farrel, who contributed to making 6 songs spoke about his involvement: “Overall, this is a very explorative album. In my opinion, a breakthrough from Arash Buana. Even for me as a producer. Hopefully the listeners are also satisfied with the results.”
