After bassist Lenon exited the band in late 2025, vocalist and guitarist Asakura, drummer takachi, and guitarist Kenichi came together to infuse creativity as they aim to solidify their sonic identities as a trio.
The song launches with sweeping strings over trap beats, instantly signalling a bold shift from muque’s earlier sound. Rooted in hip-hop with edgy, aggressive production, it marks a new chapter for takachi, while Asakura’s deeper, more immersive vocals draw listeners into a dark, cinematic world charged with themes of control and psychological tension.
Directed by Ryo Suda, the video perfectly captures the essence of the track, with its dark and eerie energy seeping through as the visuals depict a city that houses both humans and mythical beings. As muque find themselves in this uncanny land, they are accompanied by creatures modelled after Japanese folklore.
The release of ‘DARK GAME’ sets the stage for muque’s upcoming second studio album GLHF (Good Luck, Have Fun), coming on 15 April.
