mxmtoon shares new single 'mona lisa,' drops North American tour dates

A new chapter opens for Brooklyn-based artist mxmtoon who has just shared her brand new single ‘mona lisa.’

The dreamy, ukulele-driven ditty with its introspective lyricism certainly fits into the 21-year-old singer’s distinctive brand of bedroom pop.

Speaking about ‘mona lisa,’ Maia says: “As someone who usually writes songs about other people, one of my ongoing questions is ‘will anyone ever write songs about me?’ ‘mona lisa’ is about wanting to be the subject of the art for once instead of being the creator.”

“I think we all daydream at some point in our lives of diving into our favourite stories and finding ourselves in the pages. We all deserve the chance to feel like we’re worthy of a spotlight every once in a while, and ‘mona lisa’ is meant to express that sentiment exactly.”

With a more mature sound and new music expected imminently, mxmtoon is gearing to release her sophomore album this spring.

She has also announced that she will be embarking on an upcoming 2022 North American Tour with special guest Chloe Moriondo
