Nadin Amizah unveils ‘Moonlight’, a song she first wrote in high school — listen

Nadin Amizah has released her latest single, ‘Moonlight’ on 7 August, setting the sonic atmosphere for her forthcoming third studio album, Laika, Yang Ditinggalkan.

Released independently through Sorai, ‘Moonlight’ was first written during the Indonesian singer-songwriter’s high school years. While she occasionally performed the track during her early ‘Sorai’ and ‘Rumpang’ eras, it had never received an official recording until now.

Sung in English, the song offers a departure from Nadin’s characteristically dense and poetic Indonesian lyricism. Produced by Dissa Kamajaya, it introduces listeners to the universe surrounding Laika, the central subject of her upcoming record.

Laika, Yang Ditinggalkan will feature contributions from 10 producers, including Lafa Pratomo, Baskara Putra, Enrico Octaviano, Otta Tarega, and Feby Putri. The album takes inspiration from Laika, the dog sent into space by the Soviet space programme, exploring ideas of abandonment, love, home, and anger.
