Nameless Kids are back.
Today (18 August), the Filipino indie band returned with their new single 'Lonely' via Tarsier Records. Considerably the band's most emotional offering yet, the pop tracks talks about the complex feelings of loneliness of being in an undefined relationship.
"'Lonely' was written out of personal experience, getting into that cyclical situation of being close to someone, to being distant, to talking about how you feel, and then resolving things again to once again go through another round. In simpler words, it’s about mixed signals turned into expectations that leave you 'Lonely' after realizing that your intentions in that friendship/relationship don’t and never will meet," Nameless Kids tell Bandwagon.

"The song is written from the perspective of the one who wants it more, possibly the only one who wants it, that’s why the lyrics are about that feeling of talking to someone but it somehow seems like she’s merely replying and they rarely initiate communication. The catch however is that in those rare times that they do, you get caught up in your assumptions and eat up every little bread crumb that’s left for you, assuming that by telling you that they are 'not ready for anything' translates to 'I want you, but not now' so while you slow things down, they disappear, and you wait. But when you disappear, it’s the end of it, and still, you wait only to end up crawling back again," the band explains.
"Unlike other Nameless Kids tracks, I never intended to write this one, it was of those songs that I really just had to write for myself. It started with just me and my keys in the studio then next thing I know the song was done and it was one of my most emotional days in the studio, after letting them hear the track we just really knew that it was something," adds Nameless Kids' vocalist Nhiko.
'Lonely' follows the release of their single 'Sa'yo (Ang Mundo)' and comes as the first glimpse into their upcoming debut album.
