NCT's JAEHYUN has returned with a heartfelt new solo release.
The singer-songwriter has unveiled his latest single, '99 Degrees', alongside an accompanying music video. The emotional ballad sees JAEHYUN taking part in both the songwriting and composition, offering fans one of his most personal releases to date.
Opening with delicate piano before blossoming into a sweeping arrangement, '99 Degrees' gradually builds toward an intimate finale where JAEHYUN's warm vocals take centre stage. Rather than chasing perfection, the song explores the idea that love becomes whole through another person, using "99 degrees"—just below the boiling point—as a metaphor for finding completeness in imperfection.
The music video mirrors that message, following JAEHYUN as he revisits places filled with memories while learning to let go of perfection and embrace moving forward.
Speaking about the release, JAEHYUN shared: "I'm happy to finally share '99 Degrees,' a song I worked on with a lot of love. I hope listeners can also feel the beauty of finding something complete within imperfection. May this song bring a little comfort to Czennies and everyone who listens, and I hope you all have a healthy and happy summer."
Since making his solo debut, JAEHYUN has continued to shape his own musical identity through releases including J, 'Forever Only', 'Horizon', and 'Unconditional', showcasing everything from wistful ballads to jazz-inspired pop.
Earlier this month, the NCT member met fans during his fan-con in Taipei. He is also set to reunite with NCT 127 for the group's seventh full-length album on 24 August, before kicking off NCT 127 5TH TOUR NEO CITY – THE REDLINE in Seoul this September.
