SM Entertainment has announced that TEN’s exclusive contract will conclude on 8 April following what the company described as careful and extensive discussions regarding his future direction.
In a statement shared on 6 April, the agency said it had reached a mutual understanding with TEN to end his contract, while adding that it will remain in close communication to explore opportunities for him to continue participating in WayV and NCT activities where possible. The company also thanked fans for their continued support, and expressed appreciation for TEN’s artistic presence and contributions across both group and solo work.
TEN also shared a personal message following the announcement, thanking staff, members, and fans who have been part of his journey so far. He reassured supporters that he would continue on as TEN of NCT and WayV while taking on new solo challenges, a message that was met with relief from many fans.
The update comes as fans also marked TEN’s 10-year milestone, with many responding positively to his continued commitment to group activities. For supporters, the announcement signalled not only the close of one chapter, but the beginning of a new phase that still keeps the door open for TEN’s future with WayV and NCT.
