Japanese boy group ONE OR EIGHT has dropped a new version of their hit track 'KAWASAKI', featuring Felip renowned P-pop group SB19 and R&B songstress artist thủy.
“It is cool to be able to put a spin to this track, knowing that the original one was already fire. It’s such an honour to be with great artists like ONE OR EIGHT and thủy especially that the track highlights artists like us from different countries," the Filipino superstar shares. "I just really enjoy creating music that I personally like and I could only hope that listeners and fans would like them in return."
thủy, who made history last year as the first Vietnamese-American artist to perform at Coachella, adds that “Working on this remix with ONE OR EIGHT was a natural choice for me because I love their style and music. Writing my verse was really fun! The production was totally different from anything I’ve done before, and I was excited to explore something new.”
The original 'KAWASAKI' gained massive attention when, before their official debut, ONE OR EIGHT unexpectedly released its performance video. The viral song has spawned other remixes such as 'KAWASAKI (with Big Sean)', featuring the six-time Grammy-nominated rapper, and 'KAWASAKI (with pH-1)', showcasing the Korean hip-hop leader.
NEO of ONE OR EIGHT says “We’re incredibly grateful to have Felip and thủy on this remix. I think we all brought our unique flavours and styles, blending them in a way that uncovered a whole new dimension of ‘KAWASAKI’. The contrast between Felip’s deep, resonant tone and my sharp, piercing sound created an exciting synergy, adding so much depth to the track. thủy’s verse took ‘KAWASAKI’ into uncharted territory, introducing vocals that elevated the song beautifully. We can’t wait to hear what the fans think of this amazing remix!”
