Pangdemonium is bringing the acclaimed musical Come From Away to Singapore this September, marking the theatre company's final production after 16 years of creating award-winning local theatre. Based on the true events that unfolded in the aftermath of the 11 September 2001 attacks, Come From Away tells the remarkable story of Gander, a small Canadian town that welcomed nearly 7,000 stranded airline passengers after US airspace was closed. Rather than focusing on the tragedy itself, the Olivier Award-winning musical celebrates the kindness, resilience, and compassion shown by ordinary people during an extraordinary moment in history.

For Pangdemonium, the production also serves as a fitting farewell. Instead of ending its journey quietly, the company has chosen a story that reflects its longstanding belief in theatre's ability to bring people together through empathy and shared experiences. Artistic Directors Adrian and Tracie Pang described Come From Away as "a beautiful, uplifting, life-affirming musical" that reminds audiences of "decency, kindness, empathy, compassion, selflessness, community" while asking whether we would rise to help others in similar circumstances.
The production will also mark Associate Director Timothy Koh's musical directorial debut. Having previously helmed Muswell Hill, Doubt: A Parable, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, and Singapore, Michigan, Koh now takes on his first large-scale musical with an 12-member ensemble cast comprising Benjamin Chow, Inch Chua, Candice de Rozario, Rebekah Sangeetha Dorai, Sheila Francisco, Brandon Gill, Eric Larrea, Dwayne Lau, Gavin Leahy, Lim Yu-Beng, Victoria Mintey, and Nadya Zaheer.
Speaking about the production, Koh shared that the musical's power lies in its ensemble storytelling: "Come From Away is built on trust, rhythm and the generosity of an ensemble. No single performer carries the story; its impact comes from the company listening and responding to one another. I hope audiences leave with a renewed sense of what people can achieve when they choose to care for one another."

Alongside the production, Pangdemonium will also release Ass-Kicking Adventures in Theatre: The Pangdemonium Story, a limited-edition commemorative coffee table book chronicling the company's 16-year journey through archival photographs, behind-the-scenes material, and reflections from its history. Limited to 500 copies, the book will retail for S$45 and will be available online, as an add-on with ticket purchases, or at Victoria Theatre during the show's run.
