Here's something to look out for: Pharrell Williams and BTS have collaborated for Williams' new album, Phriends.
This is something that Pharrell and BTS' leader RM revealed in Rolling Stone's Musicians on Musicians where they discussed a variety of topics, including the renowned K-pop group's work on the first album of Pharrell's newest music compilation project.
"My project, it’s called Phriends [...] It’s [the] volume one. So you guys [BTS] are on there, obviously," Pharrell shares in the podcast as we hear an elated RM hooting in the background.
It seems like Williams enjoyed working with the K-pop group so much that he offered to produce a song for the BTS leader's upcoming solo album.
"Ninety percent of the work is done," RM talks about his solo album during his conversation with Pharrell. "I've released some mixtapes as one of the member[s] of the band but I think it was just like an experiment. I think this time it's my, maybe my official first solo album."
RM's upcoming solo album is part of the BTS' plans to focus on solo endeavors as members fulfill their mandatory military enlistment.
Williams made an offer towards the end of the podcast, "I’m just going to put this out there. You said you’re ninety percent done. But if within that last ten percent, if you need...you don’t need me, but I mean, if you want to do something, we can actually do it."
"I'll always need you. [I've needed you] for fifteen years!" RM exclaimed, revealing how much of a fan he is of Pharrell.
