The finalists for this year's Phuture DJ Battle have finally been announced. 

For those who aren't in the know, Phuture DJ Battle is a DJ competition series hosted by Zouk Singapore that got its start way back in 1997 to foster the budding hip-hop and DJ culture in Singapore, and to educate attendees on the art of turntablism. The competition series has brought forth the likes of Zushan, DJ Ghetto and Mad Jester, who have all since established themselves as some of the best in the business. This year's judges are DJ Rattle, KoFlow, Zushan, DJ Ghetto and DJ Inquisitive. Hosted by DJ LeNerd, competitors for this year's contest were judged based on originality (30%), skills (30%), track selection (30%), presentation (10%). 

The finalists for this year's PDJB competition are: Anrev, Krumbs, Maegz, Sai Hlyan, Vira Suria, Luq Here, DJ Ethan and JOZY. The seven finalists announced will be joining Live Mix Maestro Champion, DJ Fariz, to battle it out in the finals on 5 September 2018. 

The contestants will go through an elimination process that will see them battle it out in a 1-on-1 live elimination round. The open format, which consists of 4 3-minute sets will decide who moves on to the final 8. The final 8 will then be narrowed down to the top 4. The top 4 will then battle it out to secure their respective placings in the finals, with the winner winning a wide array of prizes.

47 Points: Vira
40 Points: Luq Here
37 Points: Jozy*
37 Points: DJ Ethan*

*Due to tied scores for pre-selection, Jozy and DJ Ethan will be battling it out in a single round, three minute tie-breaker, with the winner moving on to join the top 8 finalists.

The live elimination finals of Phuture DJ Battle 2018 will take place at Phuture, Zouk Singapore, on 5 September.
