Considering what PLAYERTWO's journey has been like so far, you could say that HAPPY ACCIDENTS VOL. 1 is an apt title for their debut album.

Hailing from the Philippines' Davao City, the hip-hop quintet — made up of rappers and producers Ivo Impreso, Luke April, and Wave P along with Puhken and Ven Villariza — would not exist today had they stuck to their original plan of performing together as a temporary unit.

"At the start, fun fact, we weren't supposed to be PLAYERTWO; we were just going to do a couple of songs together. And then after a while, the chemistry grew. And it just became so organic. It developed organically and [we] just kept making music together and became PLAYERTWO," recalled Ivo in an interview with Bandwagon.

In August, following the viral success of their irresistibly catchy track, 'THAT'S MY BABY', and a four-month concert tour of their home country, the group launched their inaugural eight-track studio record — which, in true PLAYERTWO fashion, was another happy accident.

Ivo said: "We weren't supposed to make an album. We made the songs not knowing that it was going to be an album; we were just writing separate songs. And when we listened to it, it sounded like it could be a bit whole project because we didn't think we would be making that many songs together."

What's most definitely not an accident is the warm reception that PLAYERTWO have received both locally and internationally so far. With a knack for making fun rap numbers and an energy tank that never seems to run out whenever they're on stage, PLAYERTWO look all set to build on the impressive start they have enjoyed.

Prior to their Singapore debut at gamescom asia, PLAYERTWO spoke to Bandwagon about their first album and how their lives have changed since they debuted and played a game of Favourites
