Indie pop icons PREP and Taiwanese trailblazers Sunset Rollercoaster team up to unveil the infectious funk banger 'Do What You Gotta'.

The contagious beats and nostalgic synths take listeners back to an era of disco and glamour. The border-defying collaboration blurs the lines between vernacular and cultures, coming together to create a groovy track that stays stuck in your mind long after the last listen. 'Do What You Gotta' is the heart of PREP's upcoming fifth EP One Day in the Sun, set to hit the charts on 20 March. The single further drives home PREP's growing influence in the Asian music scene as they spread the joy of their distinct indie pop, soul, and retro influences.
PREP's lead vocalist Tom Havelock shares his sentiments on this standout partnership, expressing, "It feels like this Sunset Rollercoaster collaboration has been a long time coming. We almost finished a song with them in London a couple of years ago; then Kuo performed with us in Taipei last year, and we went back to their studio afterwards for a long night of playing and talking about all sorts of ideas. But as soon as we had this song for the EP, we knew it was the one. At some point this year, we need to be on a stage playing this song with all of them."
With the funk floorfiller 'Do What You Gotta', fans get a vibrant taste of the genre-spanning world PREP is building on One Day in the Sun. Beyond its jazz flourishes, West Coast soul, ’80s studio sheen, and Japanese city pop influences, the track stands as a celebration of creative exchange, where PREP and Sunset Rollercoaster’s shared musical language comes together effortlessly. It’s a collaboration rooted in chemistry, curiosity, and mutual admiration, setting the tone for an EP that embraces warmth, connection, and the joy of making music without borders.
