PSY has joined forces with SUGA.

In an announcement made on 26 April, the Korean pop icon shared that he has tapped the BTS member and award-winning producer to produce and also feature on 'That That', the lead single of his upcoming album Psy 9th

This comes as the first time the pair has worked together. In a teaser video, PSY shared how it felt working with a friend despite their age gap.

"When meeting younger artists, I don't want to make them feel uncomfortable. I don't want to be someone who's hard to approach. He just wasn't my junior in the business but also he truly feels like a friend. It was hard to feel any age gap," said the 'Gangnam Style' hitmaker.

"At first, because he's many years my senior and someone who's well-respected in the business, I was quite nervous. It felt like working with a childhood friend so it made the songwriting process that much more fun. We became besties in a way," added SUGA.

SUGA will also be appearing in the music for 'That That' alongside PSY. Sharing more about their collaboration, SUGA says, "I haven't gotten close with anyone I collab with, it's because I'm usually not the type to meet up with collaborators in person."

"But he wanted to see me in person. While producing, we went back and forth a lot. I seriously didn't expect to be dancing with PSY. I thought I was only writing the song."

In addition to SUGA, PSY has also tapped the likes of Epik High's Tablo, Crush, Heize, MAMAMOO's Hwasa, Suzy, Zico, and Sung Si-Kyung. Psy 9th will drop on 29 April 2022.
