Nearly five decades after forming, Public Image Ltd (PiL) are finally heading to Singapore.
The iconic post-punk band, fronted by John Lydon, will make their Singapore debut at Foo Chow Hall on 30 January at 8PM, bringing This Is Not The Last Tour to the city for one night. The show is presented by LAMC Presents.
Formed in 1978 following Lydon’s time with the Sex Pistols, PiL gave the singer a new outlet for his restless musical instincts. Across records such as First Issue and Metal Box, the band drew rock, dub, dance, folk and pop into a sound that helped expand the possibilities of post-punk. Their shifting lineups and willingness to experiment would yield five UK Top 20 singles and five UK Top 20 albums.
That history has continued to grow since Lydon revived the band in 2009, following a 17-year hiatus. Three studio albums have followed: This Is PiL, What The World Needs Now... and, most recently, 2023’s End of World.
The Singapore date finds PiL in another busy stretch. Following UK and European shows in 2025, the band continued touring across South America, Europe and North America in 2026. Their live album Alive captures performances from the 2025 run, while a new studio album is in the works for 2027.
Joining Lydon in the current lineup are Lu Edmonds on guitar, Scott Firth on bass and Mark Roberts on drums. For Singapore listeners who have followed PiL through their records, January offers a first chance to hear that catalogue take shape on a local stage.
