Queen Atia have finally unleashed their long-awaited album, Die Screaming, You Pig Spawned Trollop!, a decade in the making. Released on 1 February, the album blends the band’s earliest material with newer songs, creating a raw, urgent sound that channels grunge and post-hardcore influences like The Distillers, Bikini Kill, and Turnstile. Vocalist Niqi Sioux describes it as “kinda political, kinda about girl power, and kinda about us as a band,” making it a powerful statement for those who’ve ever felt disillusioned or out of place.

Niqi explains it as “a pig watching all the ‘trollops’ screaming/suffering,” a darkly humorous take on the record’s themes of defiance and rebellion. Despite the weighty subject matter, the band keeps a playful spirit, with Niqi emphasizing, “We don’t really take ourselves too seriously.”
