Queen Atia have finally unleashed their long-awaited album, Die Screaming, You Pig Spawned Trollop!, a decade in the making. Released on 1 February, the album blends the band’s earliest material with newer songs, creating a raw, urgent sound that channels grunge and post-hardcore influences like The Distillers, Bikini Kill, and Turnstile. Vocalist Niqi Sioux describes it as “kinda political, kinda about girl power, and kinda about us as a band,” making it a powerful statement for those who’ve ever felt disillusioned or out of place.

The album’s chaotic energy is matched by its striking cover art, designed by drummer Cris Camba, featuring an illustrated pig holding a burning newspaper. Niqi explains it as “a pig watching all the ‘trollops’ screaming/suffering,” a darkly humorous take on the record’s themes of defiance and rebellion. Despite the weighty subject matter, the band keeps a playful spirit, with Niqi emphasizing, “We don’t really take ourselves too seriously.”

After years of delays, Die Screaming, You Pig Spawned Trollop! is finally out, bringing Queen Atia’s fierce, unfiltered sound to listeners everywhere. Now streaming on all major platforms and available on Bandcamp, the album is a must-listen for fans of high-energy, no-holds-barred rock.
