Fans of Rainie Yang were left disappointed after the Taiwanese singer’s upcoming Singapore show was called off for the second time in a row.
On 3 April, live event organiser FriedRice Entertainment announced that The Elephant We See tour stop in Singapore had been cancelled due to technical issues tied to the venue’s stage rigging and lifting systems. The concert had originally been scheduled to take place on 11 April at The Star Theatre, and would have marked Yang’s return to Singapore after seven years.

In a statement shared on social media, the organiser said that the production requirements for the show could not be fully accommodated at the venue. Past stops of The Elephant We See tour have featured rising platforms and lift elements as part of the set.
FriedRice Entertainment added that the decision was made to preserve the “integrity and safety of the production”, and confirmed that all ticket holders would receive full refunds.

Still, the late announcement has sparked backlash online. Some fans questioned how the staging issues were only discovered just a week before show day, while others shared that they had already booked flights and hotels to travel to Singapore for the concert.
The frustration has only grown because this marks the second consecutive Singapore show Rainie Yang has cancelled, after the Singapore leg of her Like A Star concert was previously scrapped in 2024 due to “unforeseen circumstances”.
As of writing, Yang has not publicly addressed the cancellation.
