Singapore's homegrown music scene will take centre stage this September as HOMEGROWN returns for its third edition, bringing together some of the country's biggest breakout acts and rising talents for a free three-day festival at Paya Lebar Quarter Plaza.
Taking place 11–13 September, the festival will be headlined by Regina Song and brb., two artists whose journeys from Singapore's bedroom studios and local gig circuit to international recognition have become emblematic of a new generation of musicians making waves beyond the Lion City.
Presented by the Music & Drama Company (MDC), HOMEGROWN has increasingly positioned itself as both a showcase of Singapore's thriving music ecosystem and a platform for emerging artists. This year's edition continues that mission with performances spanning indie pop, alternative rock, R&B and pop, alongside a youth band competition and booths spotlighting local creative businesses.
For Regina Song, the festival marks another milestone in what has been a meteoric rise. The Singapore singer-songwriter captured global attention when her breakout single 'the cutest pair' topped Spotify's Global Viral Chart, while amassing over 90 million streams worldwide. Her appearance at HOMEGROWN will also be her first public performance since releasing her latest album, everland.
"I'm so excited to be playing [in public] for the first time after releasing my new album," she shared. "Looking forward to seeing everyone again!"
Meanwhile, indie-pop trio brb. return home after taking their music across international festival stages and an extensive US tour. Having built their reputation within Singapore's independent music scene before finding audiences overseas, the band says returning to perform for local fans carries special significance.
"Homegrown [local] stages made us who we are," the trio said. "Playing this festival with our new songs, for our own community, we can't wait."
The pairing of Regina Song and brb. as headliners reflects the festival's central theme: celebrating Singaporean artists who have successfully built global audiences while remaining deeply connected to the communities where they first began performing. According to organisers, both acts represent a generation of musicians who found worldwide success through digital platforms before returning to support the local music scene that helped launch their careers.
Beyond the headline performances, HOMEGROWN 2026 will feature an extensive lineup of local acts across all three days.
Friday's opening night will begin with HOMEGROWN Rising, a youth band competition organised in collaboration with MOMENTUM, a music discovery and development platform that provides performance opportunities and industry mentorship for emerging artists. Eight bands will compete throughout the evening before the MDC NSF Band performs and winners are announced.
Saturday shifts the spotlight to Singapore's indie and alternative scene, with performances from Ice Cream Sundays, Dominic Chin, Forests, RINES, TP Music Vox and Khim Ng before brb. closes the evening.
Sunday continues with Ice Cream Sundays returning alongside Aaron Bunac, 10pm Noise Complaint, Izzathy Halil, TP Music Vox and Gail Belmonte, before Regina Song headlines the festival's closing set.
Running from 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM on Friday and from 2:15 PM to 8:30 PM across the weekend, the festival is free to attend throughout all three days. Festival-goers can also browse booths by local brands, highlighting Singapore's wider creative and entrepreneurial community beyond music.
