Reira Ushio gives fans a glimpse into her quiet emotions and personal experiences on her intimate 2nd EP HB2U.
Deviating slightly from her tendency to weave in others' experiences into her work, HB2U aims to be a raw expression of her true experiences and real-life events that have shaped Ushio into the person and artist she is today. The release of the record was highly anticipated by fans as the excitement grew when she unveiled the pre-release single 'déjà vu'. The track claims its position as the heart of the album, delivering heartfelt lyrics about hesitation and self-reflection, accompanied by an official MV.
Tracks such as 'Thief', which was featured in the Japanese romance drama series Today, I Fell in Love – Graduation Arc 2025, and 'Harenohini,' the ending theme for the TV anime The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity, were also released prior to the album's unveiling. The tracks claim their spots on the album, framed by the six other featured songs.
In total, all 10 tracks span various styles and sonic arrangements, making the album a versatile exploration of fleeting moments and lasting feelings that held enough importance to inspire Ushio to harness the power of those experiences to craft this record.
Anchored by groovy mid-tempo rhythms and Reira Ushio’s distinctive vocals, the new EP leaves a lasting impression of her inner world, capturing moments of vulnerability, reflection, and authenticity. HB2U showcases Ushio not just as a singer, but as a storyteller, offering listeners an intimate window into the experiences that have shaped her both personally and artistically.
