Japanese singer-songwriter Rol3ert is closing out a breakthrough year with a poignant new single. ‘frozen’ marks the 20-year-old artist’s first commercial collaboration — commissioned as the official theme for apparel brand GLOBAL WORK.
Built around hushed vocals, distorted guitars, and analog warmth, ‘frozen’ explores winter as both a season and a state of longing. The emotionally raw production and closing line — “but i hope you’re doing fine” — resonate like an unsent message.
The track was produced by Rol3ert and mixed/mastered by Hinata Kashiwai (Bigfish Sounds), whose credits include NOT WONK, the HIATUS, and SHISHAMO.
Shot in monochrome, the ‘frozen’ MV features Rol3ert’s first full-band performance — a symbolic step toward his next sonic chapter.
Following his debut single ‘meaning’ in January, Rol3ert has rapidly gained momentum, from selling out his first solo show at Daikanyama SPACE ODD to performing at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL and SWEET LOVE SHOWER. He also clinched Best Breakthrough Artist at the Tokyo Alter Music Award 2025.
The rising artist will headline his first full-band show, katachi, at Shibuya WWW X on 27 February 2026. Tickets are now on sale.
