Sure, there's new Jay-Z and Calvin Harris albums today — not to mention two very excellent tracks by Tyler, The Creator (2011 Odd Future memories, anyone?) — but the arrival of Sam Rui's debut album has been heralded for quite some time, especially since her Laneway Festival debut earlier this year.
The album comprises of 10 sizzling R&B tracks and two main features — Fauxe appears on 'Down' with the kind of auto-tuned crooning that would make Travis Scott proud, and the effervescent rapping style of Omar Kenobi on 'Let's Get Coffee' is a stark reminder of the man's untested abilities (*cough* full-length album, Omar, you can do it.)
It's no surprise Sam Rui hits her stride early on in the album, but you'll need to wait a while to find out our verdict of the entire record.
