Singapore is in for three days of laughs this October.
Sands Comedy Season will return to Marina Bay Sands for its second edition, bringing together comedians and comedy personalities from Singapore and China at Sands Theatre. The festival follows its inaugural edition in January and will feature stand-up, storytelling, and ensemble comedy performances.
Leading the Singapore contingent is Mark Lee (李国煌), who will return with his solo stand-up show Old Horse Still Have Spring 2.0 (老马也有春天 2.0) on 16 and 17 October.
Presented by King Kong Media Production and Clover Films, the show follows Lee's previous Old Horse Still Have Spring production. This new edition will revisit reflections from the first instalment alongside new unscripted stories and observations inspired by everyday life.
On 18 October, Chinese comedy brand Xiaoguo Comedy (笑果文化) will present Stand-Up Comedy and Friends Season 3 World Tour (脱口秀和 Ta 的朋友们 3 世界巡演).
Taking place at 3 PM, the showcase will feature Xiao Si Ye (小四爷), Ji Ye (继业), Dan Ni (丹妮), and Xiao Pa (小帕), bringing their perspectives and rapid-fire punchlines to Singapore as part of the comedy franchise's world tour.
Later that evening, Liang Hai Yuan (梁海源) will take over Sands Theatre with his latest solo production, Three Nights of Genius (天才的三个夜晚).
Known for combining storytelling with observations on contemporary life, the Chinese stand-up comedian will bring his signature wit and incisive commentary to the stage from 8 PM.
Tickets for Sands Comedy Season will go on sale on 28 August at 1 PM. SG Culture Pass credits can also be used for eligible purchases of Old Horse Still Have Spring 2.0 via SISTIC Singapore.
