SEVENTEEN have officially joined the ranks of global stars gracing the iconic Tiny Desk stage. On 24 November, the K-pop supergroup delivered a career-spanning set, making them the first-ever K-pop act to perform behind the famed desk at NPR’s Washington, D.C. headquarters.
Appearing as a quintet — JOSHUA, MINGYU, SEUNGKWAN, VERNON, and DINO — the group swapped their trademark stadium-scale spectacle for something more intimate, reworking nine fan-favourite tracks with a live band.
"We expected a more calm and quiet vibe because it’s an actual office, but it’s literally a concert,” the group said with amused surprise.
Opening with the thunderous ‘Super’, the room immediately erupted into a joyful singalong. The energy shifted as SEVENTEEN transitioned into softer cuts like ‘Darl+ing’, ‘_WORLD’, and ‘To you’, showcasing their versatility and vocal depth.
A spontaneous a cappella rendition of ‘HBD’, prompted by a fan shoutout, became a highlight — a rare, off-the-cuff moment that made the performance feel personal and unforgettable.
The set amped up with crowd-pleasers ‘SOS (Prod. Marshmello)’, ‘Rock with you’, and the explosive duo ‘CLAP’ and ‘HOT’. Even without their iconic choreography, SEVENTEEN’s natural synergy, playful charm, and infectious energy took centre stage.
“You really boosted our confidence,” they shared, thanking the crowd for their warmth and support.
They closed the show with a high-voltage encore of ‘VERY NICE’, complete with its signature “never-ending” twist, sending the crowd — and likely the NPR office — into full-blown celebration mode.
