SEVENTEEN’s S.Coups will not be participating in the upcoming FOLLOW tour stops in Thailand (23 & 24/12), the Philippines (13 & 14/1) and Macao (20 & 21/1) in order to focus on recovery from his injury earlier in 2023.
The SEVENTEEN leader sustained an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear on his left knee on 10 August, but had since underwent reconstructive surgery and post-surgery care, according to a statement by artist label PLEDIS Entertainment on 19 October. He had since been receiving rehabilitation treatment.
“It has been almost two months since he underwent this surgery, and he is currently recovering,” said PLEDIS. “However, the affected area is still in a vulnerable state. Rehabilitation treatment is crucial at this stage, and he has received medical advice that it would be best to avoid any physically taxing activities for the time being.”
Local concert organisers Applewood (Thailand), Live Nation Philippines, and Live Nation Hong Kong (Macao) released statements in line with PLEDIS Entertainment’s October announcement.

According to the same statement, released around the time of the release of the group’s 11th mini-album, SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN, the team’s general leader and hip-hop unit stalwart had to forego strenuous activities to focus on post-injury care.
“The artist was deeply committed to participating in the pre-scheduled activities. However, we believed that it was in his best interest to prioritize his recovery and rehabilitation above all else at this time,” added PLEDIS.
S.Coups performed with the other members in their FOLLOW to Seoul 2-day concert in July, but had been unable to join them onstage for succeeding stops of the tour in Japan when it kicked off in September at the Tokyo Dome.
Post-operative rehabilitation programmes for anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears, according to an information packet from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), depends on a patient’s individual needs. While a safe return to sports or similar activities for most patients are allowed “within 6 to 12 months, depending on the patient's progress, strength, and mechanics,” according to the AAOS, “strengthening, agility, and balance exercises will be important not only for rehabilitation of the injured knee, but to prevent injury in the future.”

Hello.
This is PLEDIS Entertainment.
We would like to provide you with some information regarding SEVENTEEN member S.COUPS’ promotional activities for the group’s 11th Mini Album.
S.COUPS sustained a tear in his left anterior cruciate ligament and underwent anterior cruciate ligament and anterolateral ligament reconstruction surgery. He is currently receiving post-surgery care and is focusing on his recovery.
It has been almost two months since he underwent this surgery, and he is currently recovering. However, the affected area is still in a vulnerable state. Rehabilitation treatment is crucial at this stage, and he has received medical advice that it would be best to avoid any physically taxing activities for the time being.
The artist was deeply committed to participating in the pre-scheduled activities. However, we believed that it was in his best interest to prioritize his recovery and rehabilitation above all else at this time. Therefore, it will be difficult for S.COUPS to participate in most of his official activities including SEVENTEEN’s promotional activities for their 11th Mini album SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN. Thank you very much for your kind understanding.
We will do our very best to support S.COUPS so that he can meet his fans as his healthiest self again.
Thank you.
