It’s a bittersweet day for Sexy Zone fans. The J-pop group, who have just concluded their national dome tour, opened their own Instagram account on 27 December 2022. In the first post, the group surprised followers with photos of all five members – Kento Nakajima, Fuma Kikuchi, Shori Sato, So Matsushima, and Marius Yo who had previously been on hiatus. The five of them also hosted a quick Instagram Live session shortly after.

Along with this joyful launch, the group’s agency Johnny & Associates also announced Marius Yo’s decision to graduate from Sexy Zone and leave the entertainment industry.
In December 2020, Marius took a break from performing to focus on his health. According to the press release, during this period, he discovered a new dream to play an active role in the international field, as he pursued studies in politics, law, economics and global advocacy. All the while he had continued to regard resuming entertainment activities with serious thought and a strong desire to meet their fans’ eagerness for his return to the group. After much consideration, Marius decided to retire from the industry and challenge his new goal.
Sexy Zone will continue as four members moving forward. Marius Yo will be joining them for a final appearance at Johnny’s Countdown 2022-2023 on December 31st.
