ShiGGa Shay becomes first Singaporean artist to perform at COLORSxSTUDIOS

ShiGGa Shay has made his COLORSxSTUDIOS debut.

Premiered on 7 April, the highly anticipated COLORS show saw the Singaporean hip-hop artist performing his latest single 'Rainy Days', an introspective track that expertly blends multi-languages, cultures, and poetic wordplay, which was released a day before his COLORSxSTUDIOS live performance.

The song, which features a familiar running tune from the well-known Hokkien folk song 'Dark Skies', was written by ShiGGa Shay and co-produced by Singaporean producers evanturetime & LINEATH.

Produced in collaboration with The Goethe-Institut, the performance marks a significant milestone in the rapper's music career as the first Singaporean artist to be invited to COLORSxSTUDIOS. The stalwart hitmaker is also the first to showcase the usage of the Mandarin language and Hokkien dialect on the iconic channel.

On bringing his music to the famed platform, the artist shared: “It’s an honour for me to be featured on the channel as I’ve been a big fan of COLORSxSTUDIOS for a while. It has always been important to me as an artist to experiment with different sounds and include elements of my roots in my music. I'm really grateful to COLORS for giving me this platform and opportunity to share my culture and heritage with the world."

'Rainy Days' is now available to stream on all music platforms.

Last month on 11 March, ShiGGa Shay made an appearance at the famed Capitol Theatre as a special guest at Korean rapper pH-1's ABOUT DAMN TIME tour in Singapore, where he performed a slew of hits such as 'if i,', 'DOMO', and 'Mercury'.
