Sing along to 'Home' as one Singapore with Dick Lee, Taufik Batisah, Felicia Chin, and more this Saturday, 25 April

These are difficult times we're in right now, and it can get pretty overwhelming waking up to a flood of news about the COVID-19 pandemic with each new day, but music has a way of reminding us that we're never alone.

On 25 April, composer Dick Lee will be leading a nation-wide singalong session of his iconic song, 'Home', with other artists in appreciation of our frontline staff and migrant workers, at the same time encouraging Singaporeans to take heart and stay united during this extended circuit breaker period.

This singalong session will begin at 7.55PM and will also feature Rahimah Rahim, Shabir, and Taufik Batisah, as well as Mediacorp artistes Desmond Tan, Felicia Chin, Rebecca Lim and Vernetta Lopez. They will be supported by a 900-strong virtual choir from Voices of Singapore

Families are encouraged to sing along from their homes while waving their torchlights at their windows or balconies. Participants can record their rendition and upload the videos onto their social media with the relevant hastages. Selected submissions will be part of a second 'Home' music video that will be played on Mediacorp’s digital video platform meWATCH and its free-to-air TV channels at 10.30PM that evening. Find out more about how to submit below.

“It is heartening to see so many media industry partners come forward to lead and be involved in this meaningful event that truly unites people from all walks of life across Singapore. As an industry, we play a critical role in connecting our communities through our content and platforms. At this uncertain time, it is even more important to cheer all of us on as well as to rally our fellow Singaporeans to stay united (...) Together, we can battle this and will emerge stronger and better!” shares Irene Lim, Mediacorp Chief Customer Officer.

"This is a good initiative by our local media industry to give encouragement to those in the frontlines to continue doing good work in keeping us safe and Singapore going, show support for our migrant workers living in dormitories who have helped us build and maintain our infrastructure, and everyone in Singapore who are doing their part everyday by staying home and observing safe distancing measures. Each and everyone of us can play a part in the fight against COVID-19," adds Ms Soffy Hariyanti, Director, Campaigns & Productions Department of MCI’s Public Communications Division.
