The Projector has unveiled its release schedule for this July and August.

Aside from the two most talked-about films in theatres at the moment, Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer and Greta Gerwig's Barbie, there are plenty of films that cinephiles can check out when they visit the Singapore-based independent cinema during the summer season.

Movie-goers who are seeking a thrill will be able to catch A24's new Australian supernatural horror film, Talk to Me, from 28 July onwards while music enthusiasts will have the option of exploring the music scene in New York in the early 2000s in a screening of the documentary film Meet Me in the Bathroom on 28 July.

Other music-related offerings that will be available in the same month include a fully restored version of D.A. Pennebaker's documentary/concert film Ziggy Stardust & the Spiders from Mars: The Motion Picture and a recording of Royal Opera House: Il Trovatore. Both films will be screened on 29 July.

Wes Anderson's comedy-drama Asteroid City, which features an ensemble cast that includes Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Jeffrey Wright, Tilda Swinton, Bryan Cranston, and more, will finally arrive at The Projector on 10 August. There will also be sneak previews from 6 August

On 19 and 21 August, fans of Metallica who are unable to head over to the United States to watch the band's M72 World Tour can catch live broadcasts of the 'Master of Puppets' act's two-night concert in Arlington, Texas. The event is set to feature two completely different setlists across two nights.

Telling the story of childhood friends who reunite after two decades years, Celine Song's critically-acclaimed debut feature film, Past Lives, will premiere on 24 August. Then on 31 August, Randall Park's comedy-drama Shortcomings, which stars Justin H. Min, Sherry Cola, Sonoya Mizuno, and Jacob Batalon will receive an exclusive theatrical release at The Projector.
