Global girl group, cosmosy, officially launched their international career with the release of their debut digital single, 'zigy=zigy'. Notably, the creative direction for this launch was led by SINXITY (BLACKPINK’s former creative director).
cosmosy is a four member ensemble under the label Sony Music Entertainment Korea and management company NTT docomo Studio&Live. Their unique blend of J-pop and K-pop elements positions them as a fresh and innovative presence in the international music scene as a global pop group. The quartet comprises of Japanese members himesha, de_hana, kamión, and a’mei, each bringing unique talents and charisma. Their group name symbolizes the “Possibilities of Youth” and the “Infinity of the Cosmos”, reflecting their mission to explore limitless potential and growth.
'zigy=zigy' involved a creative team known for working with major K-pop girl groups including enigmatic producer collective citizens of cosmos, and the A&R producing crew Amplified - elevating its overall quality to new heights. It is a K-pop dance track that seamlessly blends pop sounds with Eastern elements.
The song features lyrics in English, Korean, and Japanese, showcasing the group’s creative diversity and commitment to their global audience. The lyrics tell a story of inner struggles and identity dilemmas faced by teenage girls during breakups, set against an upbeat pluck synth sound and a chorus that delivers an unexpected twist.
The accompanying music video (which has surpassed 10 million views within just two weeks) highlights the individuality and identity of cosmosy’s members, portraying them navigating a fantastical and futuristic universe. The visual aesthetics were crafted by creative teams renowned for their work with leading K-pop groups such as BLACKPINK, aespa, and LE SSERAFIM.
