Friends, family and loved ones, slodown has something for you:

What follows is a heart-warming freestyle over the blessed, arms-raised soul of the instrumental of D'Angelo's 'One Mo' Gin'.

By necessity, there isn’t much to unpack here. Now in New York, in the company of a trusted circle of friends that have become family, the Singaporean singer, whose debut EP Nomance is one of the most resplendent releases of this year, luxuriates in the everyday throughout the home-video-style visual. Amidst shots of eating, drinking, and smoking, there are big smiles all round.

The freestyle is a lyrical ode to groundedness and home – but not specifically in the geographical sense. Even though the lines unspool via his hushed coo, slo makes it clear that the desire to taste the ample fruit that he chases will never veer him off course – "Love got me back in my lane", is uttered with surety. Spotted in the video is fellow Singaporean musician Yllis, whose next-level production helped slo realise his vision on Nomance.

In the video, slo also reveals that he’ll be back in December and teases the possibility of new music: "See y'all real soon with the next shit".

You can bet there’ll be many parties for this homecoming.

Until then, watch the video for 'D'angelo Freestyle' below.
