Takizawa Kabuki ZERO will run one last time this April.

In an announcement made today (9 February), Johnny & Associates shared that the famed Japanese musical production will run its final leg this Spring. Starring and directed by Snow Man, the J-pop act will hold 24 Takizawa Kabuki ZERO shows from 8 to 30 April, with a live viewing in Japanese cinemas from 19-30 April

Originally produced by singer-actor Hideaki Takizawa, Takizawa Kabuki has been staged annually since 2006 and features a mix of traditional and modern Japanese performing arts. Since 2019, Snow Man led the production, rebranding it to Takizawa Kabuki ZERO.

"This show has meant so much to so many over the years, and we are determined to send it off better than ever before," said Snow Man's Tatsuya Fukazawa in an official statement.

In a previous interview with Bandwagon, the members further expounded on the importance of Takizawa Kabuki and what an honour it's been for them to bring the show to life.

"Takizawa Kabuki is a very important work for Snow Man, as it's a stage that reminds us of where we came from. It's been four years since Snow Man took over as the lead actors, and Takizawa-kun, Snow Man, the rest of the cast and staff are always working very hard to show an even better version each year and level it up for a new audience experience," said Fukazawa.

"By inheriting Takizawa Kabuki, I personally have come to feel strongly about the pleasure of making audiences enjoy the stage experience. This is not an easy show to do [...] By barreling through all of the struggles of rehearsals, I've learned how to appeal to what I'm doing more, especially from the abilities and talents of the others, who have been at this longer than I have," said Ryota Miyadate.
