Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia is opening the new year with the launch of their newest label, Megah Music.

Focusing primarily on Dangdut, dubbed as the "music of the people," the new label will be "dedicated to developing a roster spanning Rural Pop, Praise and Worship for All Religions and Hindi Pop, making it the first label from a global music company focused on these musical genres in Indonesia."

Megah Music will also be re-releasing Dangdut catalogues that were originally put out during the late 90s and early 2000s on digital platforms.

Nabilla Gomes is the first artist to be signed to the label and she marks this with her release 'Garam Rasanya Gula'. 

“I am very honored to be releasing my music under Megah Music as its first signing,” said Nabilla Gomes, who wishes to spread Dangdut music across Indonesia and globally.

Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia has been delivering breakthrough Dangdut artists since 1997 with the likes of Camelia Malik, Ikke Nurjanah, and not forgetting the late Indonesian Pop Prince - Glenn Fredly's collaboration with Dewi Persik.
