SORN is back with more music.
On Friday (3 March), the Thai vocalist unveiled a new track titled 'Not A Friend', her first release since she launched 'Nirvana Girl' with her former CLC bandmate Yeeun in September 2022.
As its title suggests, 'Not A Friend' — which runs for just under two minutes and forty seconds — sees the soloist ruminate on modern friendships and evaluate the ones in her life. The song also shows off a more vulnerable side of SORN as she wonders who she can consider as true friends.
"To me, this song is about how complex modern friendships can be—and not just in the industry, but in general. I think it’s something everyone can at some level relate to. I’m just done with fake friends," she explained.

From the get-go, the track is distinguished from SORN's previous releases by vocal bassline samples from the Wild Entertainment Group's labelmate, famed Singaporean beatboxer Dharni.
Billed as a song that ushers in a "new era of [SORN's] artistry", 'Not A Friend' was also brought to life with the help of Grammy-nominated producer Nick Lee, who is known for his work on American rapper Lil Nas X's 2021 hit 'INDUSTRY BABY'.
